On today’s episode of Women in Events, we had an interesting conversation with Halimat Omotola Morgan, CEO of Tolacraft World, a Nigerian married to a Ghanaian. She has a first degree in Social work and Administration. She also has a degree Bs Ed on Guidance. and Counseling obtained from the. University of Lagos. Presently, she trains and renders services in beads , wireworks, Gele, turbans, bouquet stoning and more.
She started this venture because when she relocated to Ghana, she searched for a job and the salary they were offering was too small so she decided to start taking her beads to offices and churches. Then people started asking if she can teach and she said yes and from there , she started teaching from the front of her house till she got a shop. Asking her about some challenges she faced, she said, “Lots of challenges like when I just started then , I was better than those who have big vocational schools but because I was in a small shop, some people will say they prefer to go to those places , and finance to meet up to that standard you have in mind. And managing businesses , home and ministry at the same time.” She also added “My happiest moments are always the time when my students are graduating. Helping to build the skills of people is the greatest achievement to me.”
In the next five years, Halimat wants to impact the lives of as many people as she can to enable them start their own business. “I love Ghana so much. I have worked and met wonderful people. I have decided that wherever my husband is, that is where I belong, his GOD is my GOD and his people are my people, so, I have never compared my life in Nigeria with Ghana.”
